I'm finally going to try to get this thing off the ground. We'll see how long it takes.

It’s another day…without work. Well, I suppose there’s a lot of work to be done. One of these days I’ll learn Flash and get my portfolio updated. On the docket for today is to go through at least one lesson and see what happens from there. Lynn’s gotten involved with a Bible study from the Church I think we’ll be going to. It seems like a good fit for her. Not too deep, no homework, and good companionship. It’s perfect for what she needs.

Lots of things have happened since the middle of May. I sort of forgot about this area. I'll try to run down as much as possible in the time I have until the kids wake up. First we put our house in Oceanside on the market. It had been really hot but for some reason, our house didn't sell in 3 days like Jo Ann's did. It took about 5 weeks instead, which, all things considered, wasn't that long at all. In the meantime, I was frantically looking for work in Columbus, Ohio. Finally, we got an offer (actualy, two) and we accepted it. Still looking for work, I gave my two weeks at AMCC. They were bummed but understood why I was leaving. It's not like it was unexpected or anything. Most folks who I worked with knew what I thought of the place. It's always weird working for two more weeks knowing that there really isn't anything they could do. We finally got all packed up and had moving day. The movers were great -- only broke one thing. ;-) It wasn't anything important so we just let it slide. It wasn't worth filing a claim. This was while packing. We still haven't unpacked all the other boxes so we don't know if anything else broke. So now we're living in Columbus with Jo Ann. It's going pretty well. Stressful, as we thought, but not as bad as I figured it would be. I'm still looking for work, but the market seems almost as bad here as in San Diego. At least right now we don't have too many expenses. We're waiting on health insurance for me and the kids. We should know if we're approved soon. One kid just got up so I need to end it here.

Went to see Jars of Clay last night at the Spreckles Theatre. Very cool venue. Shaun Groves and Jennifer Knapp opened. Shaun Groves was really good, but the set was too short. Only 20 minutes or so. 4 tunes. Jennifer Knapp was rockin', as usual. My wife doesn't care for her style but I dug it. It was loud, though. After intermission, JOC came on and gave one of the best concerts I've seen/heard. Makes me want to go get their DVD or something. A friend was able to get back stage. I asked to have a T-shirt signed. We'll see if it happened. Our ears were ringing for a while. At least until this morning. I can't tell if mine are still ringing or if it's the computer fans running. I need to get out of here.
